Senator Anyim Unveils Plans to Rebuild a Greater Nigeria Before Other South East Candidates at Greater Nigeria Conference.

25th April 2022

On the 25th of April 2022, I was showcased to Nigerians alongside other Presidential aspirants of South-East extraction across political party lines. This showcase tagged Greater Nigeria Conference was organised by the political mobilisation group, Nzuko Umuna, to convince Nigerians that the South East has high-quality candidates in the 2023 General elections.

Other aspirants present at the conference included Senator Rochas Okorocha, Governor Dave Umahi, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, Dr Chris Ngige, Mr Peter Obi, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Mrs Caroline Nwosu, Yahaya NDU and Bishop (Mrs) Offorkansi. During the conference, each aspirant was given a few minutes to address the gathering.

During my address, I emphasised that when it comes to the Presidency, experience, exposure, and knowledge, are essential elements. Throughout my public service career, I have served in only the Presidency. My civil service career was also in two parastatals in the Presidency. As President of the Senate, I worked with the President (of Nigeria) round the clock and as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, I was the engine room of the Presidency.

My experience is cognate, my capacity is proven, my nationalist disposition is established and my knowledge of our country is profound.”

On his vision to rebuild, reunite and reposition Nigeria, the PDP presidential front runner said, “the challenges of Nigeria are political, economic and social. It has become common for people to isolate the economic challenges as the most urgent.

However, the most critical and urgent challenge of our country today is political which includes leadership.

Once again, I’d like to thank the conveners of the conference as well as the non-Igbo participants like Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Pa Edwin Clark and Dr Bitrus Pogu, who attended the Conference, for their consistent support for a South East presidency in 2023.

The journey to rebuilding a greater Nigeria has kicked off!
